Story Collectors

In the process of teaching Mother Goose Guitar, and gathering loaner guitars for the students, I dug out my old first guitar, which I bought with babysitting money when I was about ten (I had started with a rented one). One of the tuning pegs broke years ago, and it’s been patiently waiting in a closet for a reason to come out. After I’d repaired and restrung it, and played the first chords, all the memories it carried came pouring out. I realized that this guitar had been all over the country with me– numerous times, had been on small and large stages, airplanes, buses, ferries, and of course, my green VW bus! How fun it is to have this old friend back, being given a new life and a the chance for a whole new set of stories! That’s how well-used instruments are– they hold the stories of all the people whose music they play.

Rhythm of the Rocks
Summer Concerts

In keeping with the summer reading theme for King County Libraries, “Read Around the World,” I will be performing songs from my Rhythm of the Rocks CD. These songs will take children on a musical journey around the world. My big blue backdrop will lead us on our journey, as we sing and dance our way across the continents! You can also, of course, check out the CD from the library .
I hope your travels this summer bring you to at least one of my concerts.
Bon Voyage!

* If you have ideas for a song you would like, please e-mail me or visit the New Forum to post your thoughts and read those of others!

Now on CD!

A complete recording of the 2001-2002 Songs of the Month is now for sale. You can still print out the activities, sheet music, and guitar chords to go with them.
The recording includes the full two years, all twenty-four songs. The cost is $15.
You can order by phone, or here on the website. And of course, you can still download them yourself for free!
