                There’s something special about the
October moon. Whether or not you celebrate Halloween, it’s
harvest time, the weather is changing, and since it get dark
earlier our attention is drawn to the sky. The wind sweeping
clouds across the sky dramatically covers and reveals the moon
when it is full. Of course if you do celebrate Halloween, the
moon is a major player! Children love the minor key and quickly
join in on the oo-ing refrain.
                Happy Harvest, Happy Halloween!

                October Moon

                October moon you’re just a
                sliver in the sky,
Growing bigger as every night goes by
‘Til you’re big and round as a pumpkin pie,
                You’re a fine October moon

    CHORUS:
    Oo----, October moon
    Oo----, October moon

October moon as the clouds roll by,
Playin’ peek-a-boo with your silvery light
You disappear but you’ll be back soon
You’re a fine October moon (chorus)

October moon watching from the sky
You see the owls go flying by
A bat or two and an old raccoon
You’re a fine October moon (Chorus)

                Repeat first verse and chorus
