This is a simple song with lots of repetition. Sing seated with
hand motions indicating putting on clothing, or do standing.
Note the places for stamping and clapping. It also has a good
marching beat, which my grandchildren demonstrated as I was
working on it!
NOTE:
Talk about the phrase “Old Man Winter,” and “Jack Frost” It’s
funny how we give
people names to winter weather!
Old Man Winter Is Here
I’m
gonna put on my jacket and zip it up
Gonna put on my jacket and zip it up
I’m gonna put on my jacket and zip it up
‘Cause old Man Winter is here
I’m gonna put on my hat and cover my ears
Put on my hat and cover my ears
I’m gonna put on my hat and cover my ears
‘Cause old Man Winter is here
I’m gonna pull on my boots and stomp in the snow
Pull on my boots and stomp in the snow
I’m gonna pull on my boots and stomp in the snow
‘Cause old Man Winter is here
I’m gonna put on my mittens and clap them together
Put on my mittens and clap them together
Put on my mittens and clap them together
‘Cause old Man Winter is here
I’m gonna go outside and build a snowman
Gonna go outside and build a snowman
Gonna go outside and build a snowman
‘Cause Old Man Winter is here
You know that old man Winter is here!
