This song uses simple ASL signs. Many
words have multiple signs, and since I wrote this for very young
children, I’ve chosen the simplest ones. For example, there is a
more common hand sign for the phrase “I love you,” but it
requires more fine motor skills than using three separate signs
for I (point to self), love (closed fists across chest), and
“you” (point to another person). Watch the simple video below to
learn the song.
It's a short sweet song children can
sing to parents if you’re looking for a “performance” song.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
HINT: When doing a finger play
or ASL song with young children, sing slowly enough that they
can keep up with you.
