Sometimes a song just happens. These
is one of those songs. I was waiting for children in the next
room to line up and come in for music. The teachers in this
particular school are amazing, and it’s always a joy to hear the
way they talk to the children. Words matter, and tone matters,
and intention matters, and these teachers have mastered them
all. As I heard the rustling of bodies lining up and nearing the
doorway I spontaneously started singing as they entered. I never
cease being amazed at how magically a song can instantly put
children in right frame of mind, and set them up for what will
come next...and so we had a wonderful time! Transition songs
help set children up for success. As the old saying goes, if you
have just the right song for children, you never have to give
instructions! So true!
I want every child to feel they can sing, and that they have a
voice to contribute to the group. If I can accomplish that, I
have done my job!

Circle of Songs
Welcome, everybody welcome
To the circle to the circle of songs
Welcome, everybody welcome
To a place where everyone can sing along
Everybody has a voice to add to the song, everybody can sing
Just bring a little rhythm and a melody
For a song is a beautiful thing when we’re singin’ it
Welcome, everybody welcome
To the circle, to the circle of songs
Welcome, everybody welcome
To a place where everyone can sing along
To a place where everyone can sing along.
