You
never know where the inspiration for a song will come from! I
was watching one of my favorite weekend shows, "CBS Sunday
Morning", when a segment ended with a question: “Why do birds
sing so early in the morning in the spring?” After the
commercial the answer, “It’s biology” flashed on the screen. I
have always wondered why birds start singing at 4 AM - but have
always known it was a sure sign of spring. It’s mating season,
and there’s not a minute to waste! Males start singing to
attract a mate, and their songs can be heard in the pre-dawn
darkness.
It’s biology, and that’s something to
sing about!
Spring Is
Here (It's Biology)
Spring is here and the
days are getting longer
All the birdies start their singing long before the morning
light (repeat)
It’s biology, it’s biology
as the birdies start their singing long before the morning light
Spring is here and the days are getting longer
As the sun warms the soil and the plants begin to grow
(repeat)
It’s biology, it’s biology
As the sun warms the soil and the plants begin to grow
Spring is here and the days are getting longer
Baby animals are born and they have food enough to eat
(repeat)
It’s biology, it’s biology
Baby animals are born when there is food for them to eat
It’s biology, it’s biology
As the days are getting longer all is growing in the spring
