Here’s a simple fingerplay to celebrate that time-honored tradition; a trip to the pumpkin farm!
Use two simple motions for each verse. And don’t forget to use the other October Songs of the Month if you don’t already!

We’re Goin’ to the Pumpkin Farm

Put on your jacket and come along,
(bring arms around as if putting on a jacket,
then signal “come” with hand)

Put on your jacket and come along
Put on your jacket and come along
We’re goin’ to the pumpkin farm

We’ll look for a great big pumpkin there
(hand across forehead for “look” ,
then big circle with arms for “pumpkin”)

Look for a great big pumpkin there
We’ll look for a great big pumpkin there
We’re goin’ to the pumpkin farm

We’ll take off the top and give him a face
(pretend to take off a top, then put hands around face)
Take off the top and give him a face
We’ll take off the top and give him a face
We’re goin’ to the pumpkin farm

We’ll put in a candle and watch it glow
(pretend to put a candle in, then hands next to face,
 fingers wiggling to “glow”)

Put in a candle and watch it glow
We’ll put in a candle and watch it glow
We’re goin’ to the pumpkin farm
